HISTORY OF KILROY'S

Kilroy's on Kirkwood was born in 1975 as a place where "Mushrooms Grow Wild". Specialties of the house included homemade soups, deep fried appetizers, and filling and inexpensive lunches and dinners.

In early 1976, Kilroy's expanded its menu to include an extensive selection of imported and domestic beers. Although many of the original imports have since been replaced with a wide variety of micro-brewed beers, both in bottle and on tap, that tradition continues.

Kilroy's grew to the present size in 1986 and began selling mixed drinks. We have developed the largest shooter list in the midwest, many invented by our very own bartenders. Because we have one of the most extensive back bars in town, we carry most brands of vodka, gin, rum, bourbon, scotch and other whiskey as well as a wide variety of schnaps, cordials and liquers. Our bartenders are the best of the best. If you want it, they will find a way to make it!

Kilroy's has become an I.U. tradition. If you are in Bloomington, you must have lunch, do happy hour and/or experience late night at Kilroy's or your education is not complete. Once you have moved on, you must come back and visit at least once a year.

Good food, good friends and the best party in town! That's the Kilroy's tradition.
